The Southern Province is renowned as Rwanda's heritage corridor, which runs along Kigali, Muhanga, Ruhango, Nyanza all the way to Huye preciously treasures historical, ethnographic, artistic and archaeological artefacts along with visual aids, giving a unique chance to explore the culture of Rwanda and see its illustrious cultural and historical assets up-close. In the centre of the corridor, there is Nyanza, which is home to the King's Palace, a replica of the traditional grounds that the King of Rwanda used to occupy. The King's Palace has a beautiful bee-hive like thatch construction, giving a glimpse into the king's way of life from the 15th to the 19th century.
